VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR AFFORDABLE CHRISTMAS SHOP IN NIAGARA FALLS
Opportunities exist for you to give of your time and talents this Christmas Season in the Niagara Falls area. Gifts donated to the “Affordable Christmas Shop” will be offered to parents in need at greatly reduced prices which will help them maintain their personal dignity and provide gifts for their children and spouse they otherwise could not afford. Proceeds from sales at the “Affordable Christmas Shop” will be used to purchase food for the Destination Life Fellowship Food Pantry and Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission’s street ministry. Possible volunteer duties include (but are not limited to): set-up, clean-up, and assisting customers. FREE Christmas Play at Ridgewood Bible Church, 7073 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY 14094. Sign-Up sheets are available at the Thursday Night Mosaic Meetings at The Chapel at CrossPoint. Simply sign up for one of the two groups that will be going out for two already scheduled visits at 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM to two nursing homes in the area. Everyone will meet in the East Worship Center (formerly the CrossPoint Theater) at The Chapel at 12:45 PM that day to check in with their groups, get Map Quest Directions and Song Sheets and Final Instructions, as well as form their Car Pools. After the Caroling, we will meet at 4:00 PM in the Fireside Room at The Chapel for a Cookie and Hot Chocolate Social. Ana Entress & Jerry Lange will be on a medical missions trip to the Dominican Republic with SCORE International January 13-20. Pam Walck will be serving in Costa Rica with SCORE March 10-18. FRIDAY NIGHT CHILDREN’S OUTREACHES AT TRUE PRAISE AND WORSHIP CHURCH – VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
True Praise & Worship (578 Walden Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14211) needs volunteers for Children’s Outreach Ministry reaching children ages 4 to 13 with the gospel. Event held EVERY Friday (September through June) from 6:00-8:00pm. Children play games, have dinner, have a devotional/gospel presentation, and are prayed for and with. Volunteers needed to set-up, cook/serve food, facilitate games, communicate the gospel, and pray for kids especially on the first and fourth Fridays of each month (so if you are available and can commit to once a month on either of these weeks, please let us know and we’ll get you plugged in). Volunteers are also needed for big events such as the Community Easter Egg Hunt (scheduled for Friday, March 30th). Volunteers needed to help with a teen outreach program at the Buffalo Christian Center. Volunteers will reach out to the teens and help supervise areas of the building such as the basketball court, roller rink, game room, etc. Opportunities to help lead a small group discussion after Bible study may also be needed. Volunteers can schedule the Fridays that fit their schedule (7 – 10 pm).
Enjoy the Swimming Pool, Roller Rink, Gym, Indoor Mini Golf, & Game Room etc. The Pool is open from 10:00am -3:00pm. The cost is ONLY $5.00 per person (everybody pays except ages 3 and under). Volunteers needed to help supervise areas of the Buffalo Christian Center during Open Center Saturday. Areas include basketball court, roller rink and game room. Volunteers can schedule the Saturdays that fit their schedule (11 – 3 pm)
Shaun Smith of the Niagara Gospel Rescue Mission says that their purpose is “to glorify God by bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor, afflicted, and needy as we attend to their basic human needs through his love and grace”. The number of people showing up at the clothes closet/food pantry has grown tremendously over the past months. We are in need of volunteers to come and help us in this work. We are in need of 4-6 people to help us each week on a rotational basis. Work includes sign-in/greeter, intake, food bagger, and checkout. We are also in need of people to come on off days to sort and stock shelves.
